Mission statement

Birthday Fund Charity's mission is to advance its charitable purpose of preventing or relieving poverty and financial hardship through appropriate education, training and practical support. We seek to support approaches that can help individuals develop skills, improve their opportunities, and work towards sustainable income and greater self-sufficiency.

Addressing poverty and financial hardship

Financial hardship limits choices: whether a child stays in school, whether an adult can train for better work. Our purpose is to help widen those choices in ways that last.

Education, training and sustainable income

  • Education and learning opportunities, particularly for children who need assistance.
  • Training and skills development that can lead to earning opportunities.
  • Practical support that helps people move towards a sustainable income.

Our intended beneficiaries and geographic focus

The registered objects refer to people experiencing poverty or financial hardship in Sri Lanka. Any change to that focus would be reflected in the official record first.
